The majority of our tuna is supplied by vessels operating in the Indian Ocean, owned and managed by European and locally based companies. All of these vessels comply with Princes strict requirements to ensure the quality of the tuna supplied is of the highest possible standard and that tuna are caught in a responsible way. All of our supply partners meet our tuna sustainability commitments.
One of our supply partners is Echebastar fleet s.l.u which is a family owned company based in the Basque Country of Spain who own and operate 6 purse seine vessels exclusively in the Indian Ocean. They operate these vessels to the highest possible environmental standards and this was recognised in 2018 when their skipjack tuna catch was certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) standard which means that tuna products packed by Princes using this fish are allowed to carry the MSC logo.
